Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Trend Now collects, why, and how we protect it. We collect the minimum needed to run the service.

1. Data we collect

• Account data: your email address and a securely hashed password (hashed with bcrypt; we never store your plaintext password).
• Subscription data: if you subscribe, your plan, status and billing period. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store full card numbers.
• Feedback you submit: the message and any optional name/email you choose to include.
• Technical logs: standard request logs (such as access time and approximate request metadata) used for security and reliability.

2. Trends data

The trend keywords shown on the site come from Google's public Trends RSS feed for the US region. This is public, aggregated data and is not your personal information.

3. How we use data

We use your data only to operate, secure and improve the service — authenticating you, managing your subscription, responding to feedback, and preventing abuse. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Cookies

We use a single essential, httpOnly authentication cookie (auth_token) to keep you signed in. It is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. Clearing it logs you out.

5. Third parties

• Stripe — payment processing.
• Neon — encrypted Postgres database hosting.
• Netlify — application hosting and CDN.
• LLM providers — keyword text is sent to a large-language-model provider to generate analysis and plans; we do not send your account credentials.

6. Data security

Traffic is served over HTTPS, passwords are hashed, and access to data is restricted on a least-privilege basis. No system is perfectly secure, but we apply industry-standard safeguards.

7. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data by contacting hello@trendnow.app.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
